just came out of a wonderful week out in Colorado, visiting towns i had not known existed & now after spending many meditative hours floating on snow, meeting the most genuine of peoples, & playing for wild crowds… all i want to do is plot to get myself out here again. i feel my soul has been stretched just a bit more.

i keep trying to discover an end to this exhausting existence in perpetual motion, but i just cannot. honestly i’m not a planner so big picture visualizations are not so much my forte. certainly, i have specific goals to meet within this often obtuse lifestyle but as for what “i am DOING”, my answer is saying YES a lot, risking everything, having fun & creating more for myself & music lovers. basically, the idea of achieving zero gravity while racing face first on a tiny platform down an incredibly steep hill blanketed by delicious fresh snow at dangerously high speed… this concept of risk & trust & applying it to yes music realm but the entirety of living. thank you to everyone who has also trusted me enough to take them on a soundscaped ride. i promise i won’t let you down.

the last few weeks have just incredible for this woven world of music i exist in. been to several new cities; did a little run in the southeast to nashville, knoxville, & lexington & my gawwwwwd these crowds i will never forget. amazing numbers of inspired/expressive souls. re:convergence mini-fest in denver was mindblowing. shared the bill w/ some of my most honored producers/performers but fave peoples as well; colorado heads are wild!!! such thick AWEsome vibe… everyone appears so connected, it’s like experiencing the collective inhale/exhale. that’s some unprescribed, unpredictable, untamed medicine right there. brrrrraaaaannnng it….!

i know most of the TSA workers at Oakland International now & in turn i am also a way to familiar face to them. it’s pretty much like the airport version of “CHEERS” now. funny, yes, but a little bit of added weird to my reality. sometimes i treat the flying/airport existing as a grand anthropology study & there’s a little bit of romance that dances in the recycled air; everyones coming or going. other times i really hate it, but even in those times of utter hatred & unnatural & unhealthy of actions, i just treat it as an occupational hazzard & get over it, put my eyemask on & its ‘goodbye world’. i certainly do love landing in the most random of towns, cities i never knew existed where i’m suddenly the anonomous one in the crowd, i dont know anyone & nobody has a long history with me either. and in these moments of feeling so insignificant & out of element, i notice the crowd of partygoers, music appreciators, & eager dancers & everyone is instantly familiar; the archetypes are stererotypes are cliches & suddenly i’m right at home, acknowledging deeply & sweetly humming the realization that the common thread between us all is the ART.

on a long strange trip thru the southeast of the usa. first stop was knoxville, tn at the world grotto & holy smokin laptops, it was killer. the walls dripped. i actually sweat so much my clothes didnt fit anymore. next is greenville, sc & ending in asheville, nc. i forgot what ‘the rest of america’ looked like; the glorious symbolisms of our culture like a mcdonalds & perkins symbiotically situating themselves across the superhighways every 5 miles, monolithic billboards advertising holy places like dollywood & mega-churches, & knowing people cannot smoke inside (thumbs up!) but can bring their guns in (thumbs down). most of the time when i’m going city to city my reality is pretty much airport to car to venue to hotel to airport but this time im driving a bit, thru what is admittedly stunningly gorgeous tropical looking greenery & thru the webs of mountain ranges, but so polluted with the most disappointing of good ol’ american representations of what the majority of our country stands for outside of my safe wholesome bubble of the progessive & diverse sf bay area. realizing that im cuising thru the bible belt & stared at A LOT, i dont feel threatened or afraid really. its more inspiration to live my truth, live with passion & drop even more compassion, laughter, knowledge, & undeniably soul-shaking beats wherever i am.

newly back from a quick expedition in europe; paris, venice, & barcelona. all super dope but hafta say that barecelona currently holds new top spot in my list of rad places id live if i got to be a free-range human. checked out Sonar festival which was both gratifiying & disappointing. held within the parameters of gorgeous museum grounds, juicy PA systems, & international hipsters, it’s also quickly ruined by this very difficult to accept reality of trash in the city! by the end of the afternoon, i was literally kicking piles of garbage out of my foot path to be able to stand/dance around. so much that i avoided an entire night & complained about it a lot a lot. some great music, a lot of bad music. not just music i dont like but baaaaaaad music. but the acts i enjoyed disrupted my brain in delicious ways; Dorian Concept, Cardopusher, Joker, Debruit, Onra, & some cutie petite spanish singer/songwriter on piano. then the LuckyMe family outta Glasgow did a nite after sonar that gave me all i wanted in a slighly cleaner space & at shockingly free event. CHECK EVERYTHING OUT THAT THIS CREW PRODUCES.

so back in tropical, exotic Oakland… all sorts of inspired & rested & so hyped for the summer adventures ahead. new tracks co-produced w/ iLL Gates proud to share, new cities to infiltrate, & memories of sparkling wines, fist-sized figs, moto rides, & cultural awesomeness to keep me fueled.

¡ciao!

i normally pride myself on my health & so when it is i ‘come down’ w/ some symptoms of anything less than an A+ day its a large deal. this also only seems to happen when a new, mutated international pandemic breaks out. so i write from bed, convincing myself that the slight fever, ickiness, coughing & sneeziness most certainly is NOT swine flu. or SARS, which was the last time i was ill. but hey! the illness that is not swine flu has created some space for me to give an update on the music reality that i live/breathe everyday whether ill or not.

I’m newly & proudly being represented by the Madero Group (http://www.myspace.com/maderogroup) . an ultra premium addtion to the path & please if there’s booking inquiries, hit them ups!

Production in progress! yesssssss… long time coming but i will have 2 releases coming on within the next few months. Official remixes from honored, uber-rad artists Ill Gates & Mochipet. peep my myspace music page for previews at: http://www.myspace.com/anasiamusic

Touring is so ON! spreading out towards the east & south… psyched to be reaching new beatheads. again, my tour skedg in on my myspace music page.

k… thas’all for now. surrendering to rest which is a rarity for the wicked.
